Our Principles

1

Women Make Sister Waves Film Festival in Osaka presents the works by independent women directors who make film and video from the feminist point of view and who have little chance and opportunity to show their works.

2

We don't judge a film by the quality of technique. Through women's films we rethink our history and culture which has been made by men, and thus create our herstory and culture from the feminist point of view.

3

This festival's aim is not only screening. We give importance to the process of making the Festival because we take this festival as part of feminist activities.

4

We have a discussion on the films shown and exchange opinions between directors, audiences and critics.

5

This festival will be held every two years and will travel around Japan to share it with more women.

6

Senior Women's Film Festival screens films about senior women or films by senior women directors, and it is held annually.
